House of Braid was founded by Tassara Azad with a mission to create a space where all hair textures are welcomed and celebrated.

Eight years ago, she started the brand from her bedroom in her parents’ home. Growing up, she struggled with her curly hair and turned to braids as a solution, especially as a athlete who needed her hair secure and out of the way.

After graduating from USC, she attended Toni & Guy Hairdressing Academy. Recognizing a gap in Los Angeles for a modern, easy-to-book braiding and hair styling destination for all hair types, she taught herself how to braid and style hair, built her own website, and grew the business through relentless work and word of mouth. Two years in, she and her fiancé began building the brand together, accelerating its growth.

After years behind the chair, Tassara launched a clean hair-care line designed specifically for braids and all hair types. Today, House of Braid products are sold on Revolve and Amazon, where they have become best sellers, evolving from a bedroom startup into a clean beauty brand rooted in inclusivity, performance, and community.
